Business
I may not be Elon Musk or Warren Buffet, but I've done a lot, made a lot of mistakes, and learned a lot along the way.
I feel like I have a lot to offer up and coming entrepreneurs or even established business owners in regards to their current strategy, especially in the software industry.
However there are principles of business that I've learned which transcend any particular industry.
Software Engineering
I think many developers don't understand how businesses build value, and many business owners don't understand the potential liabilities present in building software.
Balancing short-term feature delivery with long-term code quality is something I feel a lot of organisations get wrong.
There are solutions to these problems and discovering and implementing those has become my passion when it comes to software development.
Tutoring
During my entire career, I was a private tutor as a part-time job.
I love helping people learn and overcome the challenges they are facing. I've helped hundreds of students pass exams, get to university, or simply rediscover the joy of learning.
Sadly when students struggle with a subject, they tend to invalidate themselves. The truth is, it's always a failure in the teaching methodology, and that's something I take great pride in being able to help people with.
Drug Lectures
I believe that psychoactive drugs are a leading problem in our society at this time.
Law enforcement is an ineffective strategy for solving a problem that is entirely created by the demand for the product.
Education is the only way to change this, and once people truly understand what effect drugs are having on themselves, their desire to take them drops or goes entirely.
